Dear: Owner I wasn't going to write a review, however I just happened across this review section and saw that the owner is very interested in reading theses. So I will write this because he needs to know. I am also not going to be mean and give you one star. Ok So My family and I had taken two vehicles to Walt's regularly and have probably spent close to 10K with them. Always enjoyed their service. Vehicles were a 2002 Black Chevy S10 and a 2004 silver Toyota Camry. I have family that lives close to their shop and one day. My truck erupted with smoke. To make a long story short. I managed to get it restated and Drove To walt edgars. It was night so I dropped it off and put the key with a note in the drop box with all my information and what happened. I am not a pushy person so the next day I waited, finally calling them around 3pm to which I was told " We couldn't get it started" This annoyed me I received no call from them. So I asked what could it be? They said they would have to hook it up and find out. Another Day went by no call. Now it was the weekend , So I decided to sell it to crazy rays. I want down and guess what ( I got the truck to start and it was exactly where I had parked it when I originally dropped it off) , still smoking like hell and sounded terrible, but I was able to drive it a mile and park it in a good place where crazy ray could pick it up. Wait this story gets better ... about two days passed (no call from Walt's) I went in to settle my Bill for them doing ??? what exactly, oh hooking it up to a machine and telling me the engine lost compression. Which they could have called and told me to being with... wait it gets better... So I arrive and am standing at the counter, there are two men seated one looking at his phone to my right the other looking at his computer screen. I didn't recognize the man who was looking at the computer screen , who eventually looked up to see me standing there and had a facial expression and eyebrow raise like , what the hell do you want??? So I walked up close and told him I was there to settle my bill , which was close to 80 dollars. I asked for my key back, they couldn't find it. Some nice lady who works in the shop was called over to look for it. The man looking at his phone, who never once looked up at me and continued to look at his phone, said we just cleaned the shop and probably lost it. Sure enough after 20 minutes they couldn't find the key to my truck. No apology no nothing. I may as well have been a robot standing there. This transpired around the End of Feb or the beginning March 2024, not sure of the exact date. The only reason I am leaving 3 stars is because I once got good albeit over priced service. Edit: Date was 3/4/24 P.P.S We had always been helped by Jason, However he no longer worked there.
Hello CrOnUs, This is Bruce Spencer, the owner. You are correct. I make an effort to read every review for feedback as a chance to praise a specific employee, or more, in many cases. I also want to hear about improvement opportunities too. Clearly, this is the latter. You have my apologies that our check in process was so poor...along with the disinterested communication when you came to the shop. Noting this is over a year ago now, the nice lady you reference, "Sam" is her name, is still with us. The other two have moved on. If your family would give us another chance, we would love to show how we have improved since your experience. All customers receive follow up correspondence with my cell number on it. If something is not right, I am always available to discuss their situation, especially if there is a chance to make things better. Thank you for taking the time to let us know and I hope your next shop is providing you with good service. Hopefully you are using another small biz, independent shop. We always appreciate when customers support local independents. Our family always does too.
